The Sound and the Fury

Maybe it's the solid food, or my 2lbs. 7oz. weight gain, but I sure am making the most out of my daily workout regime.  My whole family understands the value of physical fitness; when Dad comes home from work, we all hit the gym.  While mom goes for her runs, Dad and I pump iron in the living room.  I take it very seriously, working on both my upper and lower body simultaneously (mom calls them baby jumping jacks).  I also exercise my voice (don't be fooled; I appear to be angry, but I am simply FIRED UP during my workouts).
P.S.  I discovered that three of the objects in my baby gym detach, which is AWESOME, because it means I can grab them and put them in my mouth!

Chillin' in my crib

In our travels around the city, no matter where mommy and I go, everyone always asks how I sleep.  I do not understand why this is an important thing for strangers to know, but I guess they just want to make sure I'm well rested.  Well, good news people!  I am sleeping through the night in my own crib in my pink room.  No more cradle in mom and dad's room!  My crib's pretty sweet, nice bumpers and sheets, and even a mobile that I love to kick with my feet.  It's nice to have my own space, but I still sometimes worm my way into mom and dad's room in the mornings, with my signature smile.

The Great Outdoors

Recently, I have been spending a lot of time outside.  Yesterday I spent a couple of hours in Central Park.  I went on the swings, watched all the big kids and puppies run around, and did some tummy time on my blanket.  Mom makes me wear a dorky hat and stay in the shade, but that's ok, I still look cute right?

Eating Out

Yesterday, the weather here in NYC was so beautiful- mommy and I were out and about all day long!  We strolled all the way down to my dad's office (what a treat; I got to meet all of his co-workers, plus I got to see Gramps!).  I went to the park and played on the swings, had a little snack, and then fell asleep.
When I woke up, I was at JG Melon with mommy and her friend Joanna (Here's a pic of her holding me).  Joanna had not seen me since my 2 month birthday, and she was very impressed when she saw how much I had grown, and that I had learned to smile and coo.  I was a very good girl at dinner, and I let my mommy and Joanna eat their burgers before I asked to be held.  JG Melon's food looked pretty tasty; I can't wait 'til I can eat solid food!

Hanging out

Here is my newest thing- grabbing my toes.  I do it first thing in the morning (kind of as a wake up stretch), on the changing table, and when I'm just hanging out.  I'm thinking my feet might be just as interesting as my hands.

Carb Loading

Last night, I decided to explore the kitchen with my dad, and we discovered a wonderland of interesting things!  Dad found that I find the light on the coffee machine to be quite soothing ( I ohhhhed like crazy!).  We also discovered that I enjoy playing with blueberry breakfast bread.  The plastic made a very interesting sound, plus the bread smelled delicious.  If only I could figure out how to open it!
Who needs toys when there are so many other interesting things to see?!

Swing, Swing

This weekend the weather was beautiful- so beautiful that I got to be outside almost the whole day on Saturday.  Mom and Dad and I went on a long stroll over to one of the playgrounds in Central Park.  Dad put me in the swing, and I was totally in heaven!  I can't wait until I'm bigger and can go really high and scream, "Weeee!!" like the big kids.  For now, Mom has to say "weee!" for me, while I chew on my hand.

Happy Saturday

This morning I woke up my parents bright and early- it's too beautiful to sleep in!  After mom and dad collected themselves, we all went out to breakfast.  The nice waiters at the Viand love me.  I was a good girl, although lately I'm fascinated with flatware, so the table had to be cleared of all knives and forks (only spoons for me).  Then we ran some errands, and went to see my friend Nico at the flower shop on 86th Street.  He gave me a pretty pink balloon!  I held on to it all the way home; my grip is getting very strong!  I just love the Upper East Side; so many great neighborhood friends.

Hanging with my 'cuz

This week I have been spending a lot of quality time with my cousins; Tuesday just Tula, and yesterday both Tula and Cassidy!  It's been very exciting- they are so much more interesting than my mommy.  I love to watch Cassidy run around the nursery- almost 3 year olds are fascinating!  I'm very lucky to have two older cousins to show me the ropes.

Yeah, he's wrapped around my finger...

This is my daddy- he's really terrific.  When he comes home from work, my face just lights up. He gives me baths, plays with me, and is also teaching my all about the Mets and the Rangers.  I'm going to be a total sports expert once he's finished with me!  We also do tummy time together.

The Streets of New York

My new favorite mode of transportation these days is my baby bjorn- it's so stimulating to be able to face forward!  I love to smile at all the people I see- I do what I can to brighten everyone's day.  Here I am with mom on my way to see my first NCAA championship basketball game!

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles

Now I have traveled on all three!  Continuing my world tour, I took the train to Wilmington, Delaware to visit my great grandparents (they get the 'great' because they are the parents of my Mimi!!).  Great Grammy and Fa are wonderful- they took me to meet all their important friends, plus  Great Grammy took me to the knitting store to pick out a new sweater- what a treat!  They even had a special vibrating chair for me.
Unfortunately, I did not get to play with Homer the cat; he was very shy, even though he out weighs me by ten pounds.

Go Dips!

Look at my new favorite t-shirt!  Straight from the F&M bookstore- I can't wait til I'm old enough to be a Dip!
